Brody Bernheisel is a people watcher, compelled by the question of "why do we do the things we do?" He collects those tiny, universal moments of humanity and builds stories around them—narratives that hold up a mirror and feel a little too familiar, in the best way.
His path here was a practical education in storytelling. For years, he was the "guy behind the guy," writing pitches and learning what makes an idea connect. He even took a turn as an agency producer, an experience that taught him two things: how the whole machine works, and that his own life force is inversely proportional to the number of spreadsheets on his screen.
The journey confirmed his one true calling: being behind the camera, where he could shape those human moments himself. Today, he directs commercials that find humor in the relatable and films that aren't afraid of feelings. And while the kudos from award shows like D&AD and AICP are appreciated, the real prize is seeing a story built from a small, honest observation connect with an audience.
